• Un Día Normal

This 2023, Mexicut Films completed a new drama short film about the impact of immigration enforcement in communities like Southwest Detroit, titled Un Día Normal (A Normal Day, in Spanish).

The film follows Esmeralda Monzón, a young immigrant woman who finds herself detained by ICE despite having protection from deportation through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Surprised by an ambush from immigration enforcement and wanting to avoid an unpleasant situation, Esmeralda has to fight through her fear and anxiety to find a way to prove her status without putting the rest of her family at risk.
